All good advice above. I cannot tell...Hi Sandra,

All good advice above. I cannot tell you how many gallons of *wrong* paint colors I purchased in the past so my advice would be: always, always, always buy a sample first. No exceptions! Even if you do a color match to some item that seems to be the right color, or if you are convinced you have found your perfect color from a paint strip, I still would not buy a whole gallon until you have purchased a sample and tested it out in your kitchen (or whatever room you are painting). Many stores are now offering sample sizes on selected colors. However, Lowe's will mix you a sample can of ANY of their colors for around $4.00. Because of this service, Lowe's now has 100% of my paint business. It has saved me so much money! If you do not have Lowes where you live, or you prefer a store that does not offer sample sizes, then I would recommend just buying a quart. That way, if the color doesn't make your heart sing, you haven't invested money in a whole gallon. Good luck!Shari @ My Cottage of Blisshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11438747359748779374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2006755223089224299.post-26402881555583129332009-09-05T09:56:37.493-05:002009-09-05T09:56:37.493-05:00Hi Sandra, you will love the white. I recently painted all the colored walls in our home white and you cannot believe how different it makes everything look.....everything just pops against the white.

I can't wait to see your finished room. What you can do is use the paint card or chip of the colours you've got already and compare to some other ones that you might like and see how much more cream or less cream you want it to be. You should be able to get something you like like this. Sample pots are great to use.Rosy Inspirationhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00148444939191014975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2006755223089224299.post-37368053215822852992009-09-05T08:56:41.862-05:002009-09-05T08:56:41.862-05:00Hi Sandra!

Wish I could help you, but I don't ...Hi Sandra,
Wish I could help you, but I don't think you need advice from a girl that painted and repainted her kitchen 3 times before being happy with the color choice. This I can tell you....it's all about the lighting in the room. Look at a sample of the color you like in the room at different times of the day. It will make a big difference in the turn out of your color choice. Try creamy whites, whites with more yellow in them. Stay away for whites with blue under tones...those are the ones that can be too stark and a bit cold. I hope you find the perfect color and please let us know how you did. I'll want to see pics when you're done:-) Thank you for stopping by today and for your sweet comment. Have a wonderful weekend.

Smiles,
♥Ana~A Petite CottageAnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01564103424168001786noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2006755223089224299.post-2573690856033349222009-09-03T16:33:52.790-05:002009-09-03T16:33:52.790-05:00Can't help you with your white, Sandra. What I always do is, I take a sample with me {cushion, picture, fabric sample etc.} to the paint store and the lady I always go to is a genius when it comes to colour. She takes a look at what I've brought in and she matches it to perfection or finds something that totally compliments what I'm looking for. She has never disappointed me yet. Perhaps you could do that with a sample of something and take it to the paint store. Maybe you'll find another 'Barb' there. Can't wait to see pictures of your finished room! Have a wonderful weekend.

Blessings,
SandiSandi@ Rose Chintz Cottagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17415214311003251398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2006755223089224299.post-13098215524946829162009-09-03T11:49:09.636-05:002009-09-03T11:49:09.636-05:00I'm with Marty on this one!!! good luck!I'm with Marty on this one!!! good luck!Tootsiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02313167135644565141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2006755223089224299.post-64719264876909817112009-09-03T11:08:12.327-05:002009-09-03T11:08:12.327-05:00Oh...sounds like fun!!! Because white changes...Oh wow, whites are so hard. Because white changes so much according to the light and surroundings in your home, the last time I painted something white, I first found a dish or piece of fabric or paper or something that had the color I wanted and looked right in my home. Then I took it to the paint store and matched that shade up. The one in the store looked so much more tan under their fluorescent lights than it really did in my home, so don't get discouraged. Worked for me, maybe it will for you. Hugs, MartyMarty@A Stroll Thru Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12405504522777964549noreply@blogger.com
