Hi everyone!
First of all, I'd like to thank http://heatherbullard.typepad.com/heather_bullard_collectio/2009/03/index.html for her banana bread recipe. I made two of them! One for us and one for my mother/father-in-law. :) I'm sure they will enjoy it just like we are. It is delicious!
I couldn't wait until the dining room is finished to show pictures. We still need to install ceramic tile. :) This is what i've done so far. I made the little toile curtains, added the panels on the ends and the lace inserts. I'm not too sure that it looks good? lol? What does everyone think? Are the lace valances too much? Should I add smaller lace valances instead?
This is one of the walls in the dining room. I love how this turned out! I have you girls to thank. :) You gave me such great ideas. :)
I bought this hutch for $80.00! I thought it was a great buy! It's an antique and I do believe it's a Tell City antique.
This is my table so far. I really like how it looks. As you can see, the floor is cement. lol We just took the old carpet off and still need to clean this cement so that we can install the tile. I need
candles too. :)
This is my other china cabinet. I bought this from someone that was selling it on Craigslist! The couple that sold it to us said that it is a Tell City antique. I love it! I need to place something under the bird house, planter, and pitcher so they'll be seen more.
I found this little shelf at a thrift shop for $10.00! I painted it white and decoupaged the back part with scrapbook paper. :) I found the plate at that thrift store too.
Well...... I'm really looking forward to your opinions on the curtains. :)
May everyone have a blessed day.

Hi Sandra, it was so nice of you to stop by and comment on my tablescape. Thank you.
I like your window treatment, the toile is one of my favorite fabric designs. And I am the gal who can't get enought lace.
I will share with you one of my decorationg tips, "if it doesn't make you smile," it is not the right thing for you. It works for me and some of my friends. Cheers!
Love the wall with all the white/cream pieces on it! Beautiful!
~Beautiful Sandra!
I love the wall in your dining room. The white pieces look fabulous how you arranged them.
Your entire home is just gorgeous!
Thanks for visiting my Red post. I appreciate your kind words! You have time to join the party if you would like.
It's actually tomorrow on
the 27th. I just did my post a little bit early.
Don't forget the heart friendship award is for you to display on your blog if you would like.
Thanks for being such a great new friend.
Have a wonderful evening.

Hi Sandra,
I am brand new to your blog but I want to let you know that it is feast for the eyes! I love, love, love the way you have accessories your dining room and those hutches are incredible. I can't believe you picked one up for $80!!! What a steal! My favorite thing is that collection of creamware or is that ironstone? It's beautiful. I be visiting soon. God bless!
Warmly,
Alisa
Hi Sandra...thank you for stopping by my blog. I immediately looked up the scripture...thank you..for the kind words. Your dining room upgrades are great. I love your cream wall arrangements. Very nice. I also love toile. I just recently made some curtains for my kitchen...will be posting them soon. I like your curtains...lace and toile is my favorite look! I'll be back to check on your dining room floor progress!!
thanks for stopping by, Sandra! Love your white dish collection, it's so pretty. I'm collecting those too.
Sandra,
I saw your comment at Melissa’s Heart & Home so wanted to say hi. Melissa is certainly a sweetie. Wow, 6 boys, I am one of 7 so know what fun a large family is! Your home is charming, and I especially like the white wall display you arranged. Your white oval plate with the scalloped edging is really usual. Good luck on your floor project, I am a do it yourself kind of gal also. I thought it would be fun to sign up as a follower of your blog so I can see how you floor turns out. I would love for you to visit my site when you have time. I have not been blogging long and still finding my way around. Have a nice weekend….Cathy
What a pretty dining room. I have those same Carlyle dishes that you have in your hutch. The only pieces I have are the salad plate but hope to add more pieces as time goes by.
Hugs,
Sue
Everything looks very great, but the thing that stood out for me is the beautiful white collection you have displayed on your wall. Very nicely done!
Amazing blog and designs!
Hi, Sandra,
Lovely curtains, I think toile goes nicely there. I like the wall with all the little shelves of ceramicware, very striking.
Thank you for visiting my blog yesterday and for the kind comment. This is my first visit to your blog and I have really enjoyed it. Your white plates look so nice the way you have them arranged on the wall. I will be back.
Hi Sandra, I see you now have your own blog. Congratulations! It looks great. Before I respond to your post here, I would like to thank you for all your kind comments on my site. They have been very much appreciated. Your home is beautiful and your love for decor and beauty shows. The window dressing looks great. I also love toile and have it in a couple of my rooms. I really love the dinner service in the china cabinet. I would love to see a close-up of it!
I am new to blogging also and I can see it can be really time consuming, but thanks to the computer world, we make so many new friends that enjoy similar interests.
Thank you.
Pauline
Thanks for visiting me! Your wall arrangement is absolutely stunning! I love it!
Great job on your dining room, Sandra! I like what you did with your window treatment...pretty combination...and like Wanda said...If it makes you smile, and you love it...that's all that matters!
A couple of "decorator tips" for you to ponder...find a decorative cord trim and two tassels...attach the tassels to each end and then swag the cording across the top of your treatment(securing it w/straight pins) with the tasseled ends hanging down the outer edges of the solid panels...or buy 2 tassel tiebacks (HomeGoods, Ross and Tuesday Morning have these all the time) and loosely tie back the panels, poufing them a bit so they don't pull away from the lace (you can even use straight pins to secure the lace to the toile panels on the back side)...your treatment is beautiful as is...these are just a few ideas that popped into my head...I am a decorator and one of my "problems" is that I always see ways to embellish!
Anyway...I've enjoyed my visit, welcome to blogland!
Happy April!
