This tree was the enjoyment of my boys when they were smaller. They loved to climb on it and pretend that they were in a world of their own. You brought much laughter to my young ones so I couldn’t help but to feel a little sadness as we had to say good-bye to you. 
In your place we planted two Live Oak trees. My little one in that picture is now older as shown in the picture below. Someday his kids will want to climb these two little trees. 
Someday these two little trees will big and proud. They will take on the job of making our future grandkids want to climb, laugh, and play just like you did.
I look forward to the day that these two trees will be big and beautiful. :)

OH Sandra, I know too well the memories from when our kids were little. Kids and tree climbing are treasured pieces of childhood.

Don't you just love oak trees. The mighty Oak. I love it. Love the pictures of your boys too. Yes someday their children will be playing and climbing in those trees and Gram will be worried about someone falling and getting hurt. It is a circle of worries that never ends.
I hope you will add posts as the seasons change and the trees grow too. I love to watch the progress. Did you name the trees? I always name mine. I have one that I named Fifty-Two because I got her for my 52nd birthday. I have a pecan tree named "Okie", because she came from my Dad's Oklahoma orchard. We have "Lefty" that is a lemon tree that our daughter grew from a seed. It has been such a pleasure working with trees.

My Outdoor shots
We lost a pretty tree in our backyard this past year to disease. :( I was soooo upset because it had been just a tiny little thing when we purchased our home in 1992.
To honor her we planted another tree. A gorgeous red maple and is sure to bring us as much joy as her sister tree, the blue spruce.

We lost a favorite Blue Spruce that sits in the back corner of our yard last spring. We had so much rain it killed it. We'd watched it grow for 6 years and loved it. We haven't taken it down yet. The hummingbirds loved it all summer and the bird feeders are sitting in it this winter. It will be replaced in the spring, but it broke our hearts.

Isn't it funny what memories even a tree can bring...I am sure the new ones have years of enjoyment in them also!
