Have you ever taken your previously stored silk flowers out of the box and they are as wrinkled as can be? You want to just throw them away and buy new. Now I don’t about you, but I can’t be buying new flowers every year. So what do I do? I steam them! Let me tell you, it does work! Here is a “before” picture of some sunflowers I just took out of a box and they are very wrinkly.
I fill a pot with water and let it boil. While it’s boiling, I hold the flower and let the steam do the work.
Please be careful once the water is boiling. Protect your hands with gloves if you have to. The steam gets very hot!
Look at them now! They look good as new! Don’t you think?
Pretty! Pretty!
I am ready to hang them on my garland for fall! :)

Sandra, that is just the best solution!! I've thrown away flowers in the past because I thought they weren't salvageable. Now I could kick myself. Such an easy, free way to fix the flowers.
I like this tip...I never know what to expect when I unpack flowers for the new season!! :-)

Hi Sandra, That is a wonderful tip! I do notice when I pull out my seasonal flowers they often don't look so great. What an easy solution!

This is a great tip. I have a huge old crock that I keep my silk flowers in, so they don't ever get crushed in a box, but it is nice to know that this works!
