We visited our son in Houston.

Hello everyone! I hope you all are having wonderful fall days.  We just got back from visiting our son in Houston.  Some of you may not know but he is in his 2nd year of med. school there.  My sweet hubby had the weekend off from work so we decided to  take our three youngest boys with us on a trip! It takes us a good nine hours to get there but I think it’s worth it.  :)  We had the nicest time with our oldest.  We went out to eat and I splurged on a margarita. *smile*   Then I wanted to go shopping but Jr didn’t want to so he took his three little brothers sight seeing.  My hubby was the one that had to take “moi” shopping. LOL!  He doesn’t mind though.  ha ha!  There is a new Home Goods in Houston and I was in Home Goods heaven!  I wanted everything! LOL!  Of course I thought of my blogger friends and that they’d wanna see what I saw.  I walked around taking pictures and I’m sure people wondered by I was taking pictures. HA HA!!  Please excuse the quality of some of the photos (like the Santas) I took these with my phone.

Oh my goodness! Look at this stunning rooster! Is he purty or what?!

Look at this stunner!  Aaah, so beautiful!

Love these!  I didn’t buy any roosters or anything rooster related.   Boohoo!

But look at these!  Isn’t he just beautiful?

I couldn’t decide on which one to choose!   Either this one or…..

this one??  So I had both side by side and I chose this one finally. :)   I can’t wait to display him for the Christmas season.   These Santas are all going for 49.99! I thought it was a good deal!  He’s a good three feet or really close to it!

Well y’all, I hope you enjoyed my post.  I’m going to look into how to cook pumpkin?!  I bought a good sized pumpkin but because we were in Houston, we just didn’t have a chance to carve it for halloween!  I told my hubby that I am going to cook it and make some pumpkin bread!  We’ll see what happens. :D  I hope you all have a wonderful  Monday evening. :)

TA TA FOR NOW!

Hi Sandra,,
sounds like you had a good time visiting your son. wow those roosters and santas are amazing.
I cooked 3 huge pumpkins and bagged them up in 3 cup increments for pie- bread and such.. I just scrub the whole pumpkin- cut it in half- scoop out the Inards:) seeds n such-- turn it over and lay it in a big baking pan- add 1 inch of water- cover with foil and bake at 365 for about 90 mins. remove from over and flip over on a huge plate and scoop out the insides with a big spoon and toss the rind. I think I better do one - take pics and post it so it makes more sense for folks.
thanks for coming to visit me..

I'm so glad you got to do some shopping while you were visiting your son. I love those Santas, for sure hard to choose.

I'm so glad you got to spend time with your wonderful family and do what we all love to do... shop! That sounds like the perfect weekend to me. Glad you doctor son is doing well and getting close to completing his studies. Is it one more year and then an internship and residency? Whatever the case, I wish him well.

XO,

Sheila :-)
