Oh Honey!

I hope you don’t think I’m crazy but……..

I want to paint our living room again. *blush*

I know I know…….It hasn’t been that long ago that we painted it in this pretty color called Comforting….

IMG_5678

but what do you say?   Maybe? Possibly? You think?  I’m still looking at colors but there are some shades of green that are really catching my attention.  Like “Mountain Sage” by Behr.   Did you know that red and green complement each other?

colorwheel1

Yep, they sure do, sweety.  I can still keep my red accents but the walls would be much more happy.  Ok, I would be happier with green walls.  A sage green.  I think the sage green would also complement the carpet we have.  For now we’d have to keep the carpet.  In the future when we finally put ceramic tile, the beautiful sage green walls would look just as beautiful.  So honey??? What do you think? ;)  I bet even my blogger friends would agree with me:) Don’t you agree with me, friends?  Let me know what you think.

Drawing will be April the 6th because that is my birthday.  What better day than to have it right on my birthday? *wink*  I’d love for you to be a follower of my humble blog to enter.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Just leave a comment on this post if you’d like to enter.
I bought this picture from Hobby Lobby and the zebra print was in a brown as you can see in this picture.
Dream(before)

It wasn’t speaking to me.  Nothing wrong with it but I have so much brown in my living room.  So I opened up the frame and went to town with my little paint brush.   I used a deep red color and voila!! What do you think?
Dream (after)

Here it is in a grouping.  The picture below my “dream” frame, is from Kirkland’s.  The topper above the mirror, is from Hobby Lobby and it also had a paint change.  The wall color is called “Comforting” by Behr.
IMG_5629

This topper used to be a gold color so I used my handy dandy “Oil Rubbed Bronze” spray paint by Krylon.  After I spray painted it, I also used Rub and Buff to accentuate it even more. I took it down right quick to show you guys the details! See how special y’all are to me? *smile*  Oooh! Look at the detail on the cushion to my new sofas! :)  Pretty huh?
Oil Rubbed Bronze transformation

Can you see how Rub and Buff adds that little bit of color?  Love it!
Oil Rubbed Bronze transformation

And last but not least…..my wreath!
wreath

I added a wreath to the front of the mirror and look how the flowers coordinate with the picture, don’t you think?
IMG_5638

I’m not finished with this wall but so far I really like it! :)
IMG_5629

Melissa!  Oooh! I hope you are visiting blogs during your spring break.  Here is the plaque I bought after I saw yours!  See it?  (OOPS! I see the can of spray paint! I am  painting something in Pistachio and you can see my laptop on the wingback chair too!)
plaque used as topper

See it? :)
There's no place like home plaque

A little closer..  I love it! It adds that special touch!  “There’s no place like home.”  IMG_5656

Our 24th Wedding Anniversary is Tomorrow.….

March 18th……0_anniversary_flowers

I Love You
My Dear Husband….

How do I begin to tell you how lucky I am to have you in my life?
I'll start by saying what an honor it is
for me to be your wife.
You're my best friend in the good times
and my rock in times of sorrow.
You're the reason for sweet yesterdays
and my promise for tomorrow.
I never thought I could feel this loved
until I became your wife.
You made this year and every year
the best one of my life.

March the 18th is a very special day for my husband and I.  It is our 24th wedding anniversary.  I can’t ever thank God enough for such a special blessing HE gave me.  I love him with all of my heart and soul.  He is such a special guy.  He has been there for everything I’ve gone thru.  From losing my mama to everything else that came after.

This is a picture of our twins and us after their First Communion.

Here we are as well.  We had gone to a McAllen,  Texas to visit a church there.  We were at the mall and I decided at the last minute that I wanted us to go take pictures. :)  Dh hadn’t trimmed his beard but he obliged anyway. lol

Here he is holding the twins when they were babies.   I apologize for the poor quality of this photo.

This is such a priceless picture.  I hardly have any pictures of our boys together at the same time.   The one standing in the back is Jr our son attending medical school.  He is 23 yrs old now.  Next to him is Adrian.  He plans on going to school for computer science.  Sitting down to the left is our 2nd son, Johnny.  He’s 22 yrs old and we are grandparents because of him. ha ha Next to him is Matthew.  People say that he looks so much like me. lol  And then you have Alex and Austin sitting on daddy’s lap.   I hope you realize that this is not a current picture.  It is pretty old because the twins are now almost 10 yrs old. ha ha  Time flies!

Decorative Tassels: It’s Official, I’m Addicted! and more about my trip to Houston.

Hi everyone!  I wanted to tell you a little bit about what happened when I went to Houston.  My sweet hubby dropped me off at the airport and I had packed everything in a carry-on.  That way I wouldn’t have to deal with waiting and waiting at the airport in Houston.  If you’ve never been there, there are tons and tons of people.  The wait for checked luggage is a little too long for me.  I thought it would be easier just to have a carry-on.  I get to the area where you pass thru security.  I didn’t sound off the alarm or anything.  My carry-on bag did!  Actually, they had to take a closer look in my bag.  I was wondering what was going on.  I knew I didn’t have anything illegal, lol.  Lots of hair products for sure.   The gal proceeds to ask me if I have anything sharp that might poke her….ummmm no I don’t.  She goes thru my bag and my hair products were a little too big.  I had a gloss oil for hair that was 5 oz and I had another type of oil that tames the hair from becoming frizzy that was a 6 oz bottle.  I also had a small bottle of body wash.  I had forgotten that nothing can be more than 3 oz because of security reasons.  Oh my gosh!  My hubby had already left and I didn’t want my bag to become a “checked” bag either.  These three products ended up in the trash can.  It was a good thing that those three bottles were just about empty anyway or I would have cried right there.  Just kidding.  Anyway, lesson learned here, definitely. When flying, do not carry more than 3 oz bottles, my friends.  Everything else during the flight was just fine. :)

Friends, I am addicted to making tassels.  Everyone says that once you make one tassel, you end up making more and I believe it.  LOL  I made this one more springy or Easter like.   I just happen to place the tassel there and really liked how it looks.  :)  The framed sign is from Hobby Lobby as is the bunny, ribbons, and metal art.

IMG_5534

I used ribbons in purple, pink, and flower patterned.  The fringe is an off white color as is the ribbon the tassel is hanging from.

IMG_5538

Here is another tassel I made.  This one is made with colors of black, ivory, light beige, and the fringe in an ivory color.  The little bird is from Dollar Tree.  Guess what though.  My sweet hubby tried to drill a hole on top of it and he couldn’t get thru it.  I don’t know what material this little bird is made of but he just couldn’t drill thru it.  So here I am holding just to show it to you guys.  I need to find something I can glue to the top so that it can be hung.  ugh,,,

IMG_5619

I added a bow to the back. I thought it gave it a more finished look.

IMG_5625

IMG_5626

Does anyone have any ideas as to what I could use up on top of the bird to be able to hang it?

Tabletop Tuesday….I’m Late! I’m Late! I’m Late!

Please excuse me arriving to the party a little late.  Ok, actually a lot late. :)  Hi everyone!  I’m back to blogging!  I made it just fine to Houston and spent a couple of days with our son there.  Son and I drove back home.  I tell ya, it is so much easier to fly!  It took us a good nine hours to get home!  He spent his spring break here with us.  I enjoyed having him over.  He has always been very attentive to us, his parents.:)  We went out to eat, went shopping, had coffee in the morning…aaaah so nice.  :)  I miss him so I’ve been trying to stay busy.  Thanks to the nice emails and comments about being concerned or wondering where I’ve been.  I feel loved!!! :)

This evening I’d like to share my fireplace with Marty and "Tabletop Tuesday"   This is such a fun party.  I enjoy looking at everyone’s blogs. :)  Please visit her wonderful blog to get some great ideas on how to display your pretties.

I’m shocked! 100 Followers!

Hi everyone!  I’m busy packing my little carry-on bag because I’m flying to Houston today and meet up with our oldest son.  Don’t get me wrong and think I am a pro at this.  hee hee I have never flown by myself anywhere!  Usually hubby and I drive or my nephew goes with me if I am going to take a flight.  This will be my first time going all by myself.  I have butterflies in my stomach, seriously.  My sweet hubby has to keep reassuring me that all will be fine and that the plane is not going to fall.  eek!  So you all think of me, ok?  Say a little prayer for me.  :)  Of course, I also have to leave my house clean.  My hubby is home  (yay!) so he will be home with our three boys.

I decided to have a little  peak at my blog and a quick glance at all of the blogs I follow.  You all are so important to me! :) What can I say?  You all are very inspiring people and I am blessed to be following some wonderful blogs.  I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Well guess what?!  I am so  excited to have 100 followers!  Little ole me has 100 followers!  I started this blog as a way to have my own little journal (so to speak) and also be able to follow along in all of your wonderful blogs.  I never thought that I’d have followers.  I still remember the first time someone signed up to follow….and the second….and so on.  Rhoda (Southern Hospitality) was the first blog I had found.  I was also lurking at Melissa’s (Melissa’s Heart and Home) for quite a while before I signed up to have a blog.  And now I have a 100 followers!  I really appreciate all of you!  You guys are the best.  How can I be so blessed as to have people following my little ole blog?  1da230be5300bc4b7b455c5yf7 I consider you all my friends even if we’ll never meet in person.  Friends from all over.  You all are amazing!  I am definitely going to have a giveaway as a jester of my appreciation for having such awesome friends here in bloggy world.  Alrighty, everyone have a wonderful day full of love and laughter.
