WILDSEED FARMS

Outdoor_Wednesday_logo

It’s Outdoor Wednesday.  Please visit the lovely Susan at http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/ for more “Outdoor Wednesday” participants.

On our way back from Houston, we decided to visit Fredericksburg, Tx.  Fredericksburg is a little tourist town and we love spending time there.  We went to Wildseed Farms, a nursery right outside of Fredericksburg. http://www.wildseedfarms.com/ OMGosh!  It has acres and acres of flowers!   I almost jumped the fence to try to get closer!  JK.  Anyway, this is the entrance to a part of the nursery.  IMG_3751

I love all the different types of plants they have!IMG_3741

Some Crape Myrtles.IMG_3742

More Crape Myrtles!  I bought two of them for my yard!IMG_3743

I’d love to have rocks like these in my yard! IMG_3744

Another rock.IMG_3745

And yet another rock. :)IMG_3746

This is right outside to the entrance of the building. :)  Pretty!IMG_3747

And on to the acres of flowers!  There were tons of sunflowers!IMG_3754

A little bit more close to the sunflowers. :)IMG_3756

See what I mean?  Tons of flowers!IMG_3757

Such pretties!IMG_3758

More.  I would have liked to have gotten closer but there is a fence that keeps people from getting too close to the flowers. IMG_3764

I hope you all enjoyed the little tour of Wildseed Farms  If you are ever in the area of Fredericksburg, Tx, make sure to stop by this nursery. :)

Happy OW!

We Are Back From Houston!

First of all, I’d like to thank all of you that responded to my private mama moment post.  I really appreciate all the kind words you all left for me.   Thank you, thank you! :)

We made a trip to Houston to  get our son ready for med school.  He signed his lease for housing too.  I’m soooo glad he will be able to stay at the housing for med students!  It is secured with a guard at the front of the entrance so not just anyone can go in.  I feel much more content! Whew!  We bought a bed and some of the necessities he’ll need.  Oh! Have any of you all gone to Garden Ridge?  A store?  They have just about everything there! LOL  We don’t have that store in my area so I had tons of fun in there.  hee hee!

I could not believe how many crepe myrtles there are in that area!  Tons and tons everywhere!!!  I took many pictures.  I’m soooo glad to be home though.  I just wanted to say hi to my fellow bloggers and I missed everyone.  I missed reading everyone’s posts.  Oh gosh, time to do laundry and get my house back in order.  I am looking forward to catching up on what everyone has been up to.  :)

My Private Mama Moment.

tito

It’s getting closer that my husband and I have to move our oldest son for medical school.  Time went by too fast.  It wasn’t long ago that he was a child.  A child that knew he wanted to be a doctor.  I found a letter I had written to him when he was 10 yrs old and in that letter I wrote that he was going to be such a great doctor.  And we are just about at that phase as he starts a new chapter in life. Unbelievable, but he is starting medical school already.  Time just went by too fast.  The tears have been flowing this evening.  There will be an empty spot when we eat dinner.  It’s tough to let go of your children.  I know I’m not the first mother who goes thru this.  How did you get thru this?

aaw

I think the only way for me to get thru this is by holding on to the LORD.    I gotta keep telling myself   “He’ll only be a phone call away.”  That’s what we keep telling him.
“We’ll only be a phone call away.” And… “We’ll be just a plane flight away”   Whew I gotta stay strong.

Thank Heaven for Rain!

It’s Outdoor Wednesday.  Please visit the lovely Susan at http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/ for more “Outdoor Wednesday” participants.

It is down right pouring at this moment!  I am so thankful because there is nothing like rain water to nourish all my flowers, plants, grass, and trees.  I was about to go outside and take some pictures for Outdoor Wednesday but the rain came first.   I’m thankful though.  So I’ve got a couple of pictures I took yesterday of my little wheelbarrow I painted.  It used to be a brown color.  IMG_3506_1

and look at her now. :)  I spray painted her in Pistachio Green.  Love it!  I might do that to the bench too!IMG_3653

Enjoy your Outdoor Wednesday even if you end up having to stay indoors. :)

Today’s Thrifty Treasures… My Table & Other Tidbits.

SouthernHospThriftyTreasurescopy

Welcome to Today’s Thrifty Treasures.   Be sure to visit Rhoda at Southern Hospitality for more Today's Thrifty Treasures participants.

I went to a church rummage this weekend and they had so much to sell!   Cast your eyes on this beautiful table I found!  OMgosh, I really like it!

IMG_3715 Please excuse my ugly floor.  We bought this house eight years ago and have done alot of updating to it but the floor in the kitchen has not been touched. lol  eek!  Aaah, someday.

See how ornate it is?  I’m going to sand it, primer it, and then paint it cottage white by Behr.  Love that color.  Or who knows, maybe another shade of white.  Not too sure yet.  IMG_3722

Next is this corner cabinet.  It is painted white already so I don’t have to mess with it.  I might shabby it up a bit on the edges.  lol  I also found it at the church rummage. IMG_3713

And finally, this basket.  I found this at Hobby Lobby for 3.99.  I had to have it.  I can picture it in the garden with a pot of flowers. :)  IMG_3711

Make sure to visit Rhoda at Southern Hospitality. :)  Have a good day!

My Chalkboard In It’s Place!

Hello my fellow bloggers!  I hope you all are having a great Saturday.  I finally put my chalkboard where I thought it would look pretty. lol  I bought a little metal sign from Hobby Lobby and placed it on top of my chalkboard.

I used a chalkboard spray by Krylon.  Basically, I taped off the area  that I didn’t want the spray on.  This was extremely easy to do.  IMG_3710

IMG_3703

I added a red and white checkered ribbon to the chalkboard. :)  Unsightly little screw.  hee hee  Oh well.IMG_3702

And  TA DA!!!IMG_3699

IMG_3700

I hope you all liked it!  And that’s about it for now.  I can’t wait to show you a round table I found at a church rummage sale!  I’m going to sand it down and then paint it Cottage White (by Behr).

Happy Saturday!

My Little Rooster & Chalkboard

Hello, my fellow bloggers.  I hope y’all are having a good week.  :)

I went to Cato today to shop for me. :)  As I was paying for my tops, I saw this rooster.  I had to go check him out and noticed he was only 3.99!  Well of course he had to come home and become part of the rest of my roosters in my kitchen.  I hope he can get along with the others.  *wink*  Isn’t he purty?

IMG_3694

And I finally made a chalkboard. :)  I found the tray at a yard sale for a dollar!  Not bad at all!  I like how it looks now.  I am going to add a ribbon and hang it somewhere in my kitchen.  Yuck, what an ugly counter we have.  But….we’ll be changing that soon!  I can’t wait!  IMG_3689

Ta Ta For Now!

Blessings,

Treasure Every Moment.

Sometimes we take life for granted and become a little selfish.   I know I do.  Then I read this at  The Thrifty Chick blog thru Frippery.  It is sooo very heartbreaking.  I didn’t know her personally but just the fact that she was a fellow blogger just breaks my heart.  Her precious babies and her husband.  So Sad!

My prayers are with them.  May the Lord comfort them.

Let’s treasure every moment in our lives, my fellow blogger friends.

Start With Praise

Through HIM, therefore, let us constantly and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify HIS name.  Hebrews 13:15

Let us all wake up in the morning and say "Thank you Lord.  I give YOU the sacrifice of praise.  I am ready to live for YOU today. :)

I hope you all are having a wonderful Tuesday.

Today’s Thrifty Treasures & A Question for The Texas Gals!

SouthernHospThriftyTreasurescopy

My question for the Texas gals is:  What stores/flea markets do you gals recommend that I shop in the Houston area?   I love antiques or any good buys.  We’re planning a trip with our oldest son to that area.  He will start medical school in Houston next month!  Alrighty….on to Today’s Thrifty Treasures!

Welcome to Today’s Thrifty Treasures.   Be sure to visit Rhoda at Southern Hospitality for more Today's Thrifty Treasures participants.

I don’t have much to show this week.   I found one of this though and I can’t wait to make a chalkboard!  I paid just a 1.00 for this!  Woohoo!IMG_3610

I paid 50 cents each on these!  I am planning on spray painting these to a black with a white monogram on the center and use them in my twin boys’ room.  The little basket was also a 1.00.   I haven’t thought of where I will put it but I’m sure I’ll find a place.  IMG_3607

And lastly, I bought this for a 1.00 as well!   IMG_3588

And that is it.  There weren’t many yard sales this past weekend.  Y0u all make sure to stop by Rhoda’s blog  at Southern Hospitality and check out what everyone else found in their thrifting!

Have a wonderful day!
