Joining the “Oil Rubbed Bronze” fan club!

Hello my friends!  Oh wow.  Two posts in one day.  Well it’s because I’m sooo excited!  I have been pondering as to how to paint my fireplace.  Currently it is brass….very outdated.  See this picture?  This is what I’m  talking about.

I’m also going to paint the picture frame that is above the mantle in a brownish color….maybe the same color….Oil Rubbed Bronze.  Oh I’m sooo excited!

What do you think?  Has anyone painted anything with the color Oil rubbed Bronze?

I’m off to Wal-mart and hopefully find the paint!

Never heard of that paint but I'm looking forward to seeing your finished fireplace. I have one of those outdated brass things also. Warm wishes, Esther

Yes, I have used the oil rubbed bronze paint on a ton of things and I just love it. I found some really cheap light fixtures for the bathroom, but they had the worst black and gold zebra kind of finish on them you ever saw. The globes were wonderful and the design was fabulous, so I spray painted them oil rubbed bronze and they look like the ones that cost $200 now. Go for it. You will love it. My only question is will it take the heat? Hugs, Marty

Sandra,
I know I'm late arriving. Still working my way through the parties. I don't want to miss a one!

Loved seeing all your roosters. Thanks for sharing in the fun.
