On This Last Day of December

HappyNewYear

I can’t believe that this last day of December is among us.  I have been pondering today on everything the year of 2009 brought my family and me.

There have been some wonderful moments for sure.  My oldest being accepted into medical school was one of the best moments in our family.  This is a perfect example that your dream can come true.  Like the saying goes…”Where there’s a will, there’s a way” :)  Push yourself to succeed in whatever you dream of being “when you grow up” *wink* Mom and dad sure are proud! :)

We also went thru some tough times this 2009.  We learned late 2008 that my father-in-law has Alzheimer’s so 2009 has been hard on my mother-in-law and on us, his family. l_9d1fa42cdac44b1cafcc65c8ec104937 I love them both with all my heart.  Grandpa (as we all call him) is like my father and it was hard at first when he didn’t recognize me or thought I was someone else.   Alzheimer’s is such a hard disease.  My oldest son took it real hard when he came home for Thanksgiving Day.  He, along with all the grandchildren, have always seen grandpa as the strong man of the family.  Here are some of his grandkids, great-grandkids, and a couple of grandkids at heart. :)  IMG_1804

How did I start blogging?  I happened to bump into this great blog and immediately was hooked!  Rhoda from Southern Hospitality was the very first blog I had bumped into and just read everything in her blog.  That’s when I realized that there was a world of blogging out there!  lol

God bless each and every one of you that follow my humble blog.  I hope to get to know you all better in the coming year.  I have learned so much from all you wonderful bloggers and I’m sure I will learn more about the world of blogging in the new year.  Gosh, what can I say…. You all have been such an inspiration to me.

I learned that there are other women like me!  We are not afraid to paint a piece of furniture or tackle some kitchen cabinets by painting them.  hee hee!  Give me a paint brush and some paint any day! :)

Most of all, I have learned that you all are such loving people and we are all connected because of God’s Love for Us.   kgkl_reflection

I hope 2010 will bring nothing but happiness and many many blessings to everyone of you!  Have a wonderful New Year’s Day my friends!NY66

Blessings,

Sandra

Happy New Year! Just had to stop in and say hello...

I can share your heavy heart over your FIL. My daddy has had a MONSTER IN HIS BRAIN (ALZ) for many years. He just recently forgot my name again. Very difficult and hard to understand why God allows such things.

Still...life is good and there are many wonderful days ahead for you and your family. I know it.

Blessings to you, sweet S! I'll be back soon to see what you are up to. Congrats again on your son making it into Medical School. What an honor...

Love to you~Rebecca

What a sweet and loving post, Sandra! Your heart is right there for all of us to see, and for that, I thank you. I appreciate you sharing your heart with us. Thank you for being a part of my life, too. I appreciate you so much, and I hope and pray that your life will be filled with blessing overflowing. I hope, too, that they will find a cure for alzheimer's. I have several friends who have walked this road with loved ones.

Loved seeing your pictures, and I hope you and your family will have a very Happy 2010!

XO,

Sheila :-)
